I work with countless families struggling to achieve balance in a fast-paced world. I practice and teach Social Emotional Learning to children, caregivers, families and organizations.
I received my M.S. Ed. degree in Guidance and Counseling (K-12) from Montclair State University and my B.A. from Northeastern University. I hold certifications in Life Coaching, ADHD Awareness and Mindfulness Techniques. Beginning my career as a classroom teacher in 1990, I was inspired to work with children and families. Stephanie has worked with children in various settings for over 15 years while bringing social and emotional wellness into her career both at school and at home. While working as a nanny, Stephanie found herself implementing ‘Mindfulness Moments’- during car rides to day camp, before soccer games, in between math homework problems, pre-dinner fights with siblings etc... It didn’t take long for her to discover her passion; implementing mindfulness in our daily lives. The act of simply being present in a moment.
Now, as an Elementary School Counselor, Stephanie brings mindfulness into all of her counseling sessions, small groups, classroom lessons, and after-school clubs.
Research has shown that a child who practices mindfulness is less stressed, can improve their ability to express their feelings, better regulate their emotions, and have an understanding of what they need to be their best kid-self- which is what we all want, right?
